LACMA Visit - Photos

Went to the LACMA a few weeks ago (Yes, I am just now getting to posting it!) for a day of sketching and checking out art. Even though the intent of the visit was to draw, sometimes I just can't resist taking a few photos of the spaces and architecture. The sketches that also came out of this day will be forthcoming.

I Love Lamp

Took a few photos the other night of some interesting light fixtures. I delight in making lamps and lights almost illeligible as a singular object and push the more subtle details of the play of light and the abstract forms that interact with it.

Blind Shadows

This is a photo that i took with my iPhone at work. Just happened to see this visage on the wall in one of the hallways. The window blinds were completely mangled and were shining a bizarre shadow and reflection on the wall. This is not a reversed image.

Party Lights

I took this picture while I was inebriated at my birthday party! Who says you can't take cool pictures while you're drunk? No one. Thats who!

Bamboo Shade

A photo of another lampshade and light from my apartment. Whenever I end up compiling all my photos into little books, I'm sure I will put it with the rest of them.

Illuminations

After a long hiatus, I have returned bearing a new series of photos! Photos of lights and fixtures that were around my apartment. Except for the last couple... those were from Disneyland (I'm sure I drew many a look from people wondering why I would be pointing my camera at lights all day). The last one in particular kind of scares the hell out of me, as if it were an image from a nightmare had long ago.

Yes, i realize that it is more than 2 months AFTER the holidays... but that matters not! What matters is that I am posting again. So here they are in all their shiny glory!

Just After Midnight

It is a rare occurrence when I catch a glimpse of one small thing out of the corner of my eye that leads to a chain reaction which opens a portal into some other fantastic realm that I have yet to explore. In the wee hours of the morning, just after Midnight, I had just such an experience...
